The Cambridge Society for Social and Economic Development (CAMSED) invites you to the sixth event in a series of seminars on The Future of the Neoliberal Society.

Leslie Sklair is Professor Emeritus in Sociology at LSE and a prominent scholar on global capitalism. Professor Sklair will be talking about the transnational capitalist class and the way it works. This is essential in order to understand neoliberalism, why it is so successful as a global system and why it is unviable in the long-term, leading to crises. The argument will be illustrated with case studies of how the transnational capitalist class operates in the tobacco industry, the corporate capture of sustainable development, the globalization of human rights, and iconic architecture and cities.
